OVERVIEW

Insight Global is seeking two Solar Plant Managers to join a large renewable energy client! One Plant Manager will sit in Daggett, CA and the other in Desert Center, CA. They will report into the Regional Manager and oversee the operations and staff for their respective plant. The main focus of this role will be to maintain safe and compliant operations of a utility scale solar farm.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis on safety, planning/scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance
  • Monitor and enforce safe work practices as they relate to PV Solar plants and PV Solar BOP repairs and maintenance
  • Assists in the hiring of site maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews.
  • Monitors and reports on manufacturer and third-party maintenance and repair efforts
  • Supervises/conducts/assists in troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Monitors and manages the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools, and reordering as necessary
  • Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance
  • Participate in contract negotiations with sub-contractors and other vendors for parts and services required.
  • Responsible for manuals, updates, and work instructions for site personnel and PV systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the operations management of solar plants
  • Proven experience developing and running a maintenance program
  • Significant experience with High Voltage and Medium Voltage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite - specifically Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience working with plant systems and CMMS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial operations management, forecasting and controls
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Prior role in the operations management of solar plants of at least 300 MW
  • Experience bringing a site from commissioning up to full production
