PROCUREMENT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading and managing purchasing projects with a significant impact on revenue and customer satisfaction. Assist in completing special projects related to customer flexibility, inventory, and margin performance. Focus on cost reduction, inventory control, and special projects, while supporting the company's goals and objectives. Direct and coordinate activities of personnel involved in managing purchased materials within the organization.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Lead NPI procurement to ensure alignment with the project plan.
  • Ensure buyers execute timely procurement, source from preferred suppliers, purchase at correct prices and quantities, follow SOPs, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Oversee material shortage mitigation and serve as escalation point for critical issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for favorable pricing of production materials.
  • Support supply chain programs to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with program management to manage excess and obsolete materials.
  • Work with purchasing to mitigate excess and obsolete material on order.
  • Review and monitor purchasing action messages for pull-ins, push-outs, and cancellations.
  • Negotiate and monitor NCNR status of production material.
  • Develop and implement inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors to return E&O material through the RMA process.
  • Identify material liability and negotiate third-party disposition.
  • Implement site-to-site opportunities for E&O consumption or shortage solutions.
  • Lead purchasing efforts for new and existing production, ensuring communication of customer needs and production dates.
  • Develop and implement supply chain solutions to enhance customer flexibility.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for policy conformance.
  • Lead process improvement and training initiatives within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate SOPs and ethical practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Performs other support duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Supply Chain.
  • Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
  • May be asked to assist in other duties to ensure production needs are met in a timely manner.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain. Position is responsible for supervising, providing direction to, and evaluating purchasing personnel in matrix leadership function.
PROCUREMENT MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in materials and purchasing
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proven contract negotiation experience in a cost-competitive environment
    • Experience with domestic and international supply chains
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups at all organizational levels
    • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write and understand routine reports, follow instructions, and communicate effectively
    • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment and common software applications, including email, internet, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
PROCUREMENT MANAGER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced Degree in Materials or Operations Management
  • 10 years of experience in purchasing or materials
  • 5 years of NPI purchasing experience
  • Project management experience
  • C.P.M., C.P.I.M.
    • Or a related certification
  • Experience in global contract manufacturing and EMS industry
