Job Description Staff Civil Engineer with 1 to 5 years of experience for our Bellingham office. The candidate will work on a wide variety of projects throughout the Puget Sound region including municipal roadways, bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, transportation planning, and construction management projects for various public agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year in a Civil (Roadways and/ or Utilities), Structural, or related engineering field in an environment that includes transportation-oriented design, plan preparation, writing specifications, developing cost estimates, and assembling contract documents and/or other related engineering processes.
- Bachelor’s in civil engineering (BSCE) from an ABET accredited college or university
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (MicroStation a plus)
- Additional Experience Desired
- Structural engineering experience of bridges and/or retaining walls
- Construction inspection experience Typical Job Responsibilities Perform design services related to roadway and site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Assist in development of technical reports
- Prepare specifications and cost estimates
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and aptitude for detail
