Overview:

The Unit Receptionist works under the supervision of the Manager, House Supervisor, or Executive Director, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, performs a variety of skilled secretarial duties in support of Physicians, the nursing unit/department. May be required to assume additional duties as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School or GED.
  • Unit receptionist orientation complete within 90 days of hire.
  • Other: Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills. Must be able to operate various types of office equipment including computer, fax machine, telephone with multiple lines, printer, copy machine, and nurse call system. Must feel comfortable using computer software and EHR for reports and documents.
  • Preferred Education: Secondary
  • Preferred Experience: Previous secretarial/clerical experience within a healthcare setting.
