Job Title: CNC Vertical Turning Lathe Operator
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Overview
This position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and an opportunity to earn 15% more by working the second shift. The second shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with four 10-hour workdays.
Join a dynamic machine shop where you'll work on machining one-off large parts. This role offers a challenging environment if you're tired of production work. The position involves operating two HNK Vertical Turning Lathe Centers along with other heavy machining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) using Fanuc controls, including live tooling and Fanuc programming with G and M codes.
  • Safely handle equipment and products with care and caution, ensuring the safety of people and the work environment.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance to ensure the equipment's safety and operational efficiency.
  • Use materials lifting equipment and demonstrate knowledge of crane rigging for large parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong mathematical skills in daily tasks.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating large CNC VTL machines.
  • Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of materials lifting equipment and crane rigging is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and perform calculations.
Additional Qualifications
  • Must pass all checks and screenings.
  • If the role involves operating a motor vehicle, a motor vehicle record check will be required.
