Assistant Controller
Location: Indianapolis, IN | 3 days WFH after training
Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 + 10% bonus dependent on experience

Assistant Controller Overview:
As the Assistant Controller, you would be a part of a great leadership team and make an impact from day one! This role has high visibility to senior leaders with opportunities for growth across the company. In this management role, you will be a key player in monthly financial reporting, month-end close responsibilities, job costing responsibilities, and more.
Assistant Controller Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee reporting and accounting, including monthly and quarterly balance sheet reviews for key operating accounts.
  • Lead finance processes for the following critical business activities:
    • Monthly closing, including journal entries, primarily for job cost entries.
    • Conduct job cost reviews, performance evaluations, and lump sum assessments.
    • Prepare MOR, including variance analysis against budget, previous periods, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate expenditure processes, ensuring accurate reporting of payroll and managing purchase-to-pay administrative duties.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely customer billing and collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Manage intercompany accounting for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Handle capital expenditure requests and provide support as needed.
Assistant Controller Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Required
  • 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
  • 2 years direct working experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Must have experience creating complex financial spreadsheets, and experience creating pivot tables
  • Ability to manage a team of people
