Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer (Integration) or Principal Electrical Engineer (Integration) to support our Avionics Integrations West organization.
This position will be based in Palmdale, CA with up to 25% domestic travel required.
To succeed in this position, one should be familiar with and understand one or more of the following: electromagnetics, communications, optics, receiver architecture, advanced signal processing techniques, sensor modeling, and/or sensor performance validation.
Responsibilities Include:
- Learning design and development of newly developed avionics/payloads subsystem
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration into product
This position may be filled at either the Electrical Engineer (Integration) or Principal Electrical Engineer (Integration) level depending upon the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Electrical Engineer (Integration):
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 0 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in or demonstrated knowledge of system integration and test
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Electrical Engineer (Integration):
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in or demonstrated knowledge of system integration and test
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Experience in avionics / payloads system integration and test
- Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6
- Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
- Experience in initial design, review, and the approval process and implementation thereof said design cradle to grave.
- Experience in Team Center, the Team Center release process, CATIA and CAD drawing.
- Experience with supplier subcontractors and supplier SOW.
- Active SAP/PAR
Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
