nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join the team with our Engineering Division.

nResponsibilities:
nOrchestrating the development of spacecraft systems, emphasizing innovative solutions for propulsion, structure, and environmental control to support extended space missions
nLeading collaborative efforts with interdisciplinary teams to merge cutting-edge technologies into cohesive and functional spacecraft designs, meeting both mission requirements and visionary goals.Guiding the spacecraft design lifecycle, including conceptualization, system integration, prototype development, and rigorous testing phases, adhering to the highest standards of space engineering
nPerforming intricate analyses across a spectrum of engineering domains, including mechanical, thermal, and fluid dynamics, to validate and optimize spacecraft designs
nInitiating and overseeing advanced research projects to explore novel materials and technologies that enhance the performance and sustainability of space systems
nDesigning and executing comprehensive testing programs for spacecraft components, employing simulations and real-world tests to ensure mission-critical reliability and safety
nWorking closely with project leaders to ensure engineering solutions are in sync with strategic objectives and mission milestones.
nDeveloping and nurturing a team of skilled aerospace engineers, promoting a culture of technical innovation, operational excellence, and continuous learning
nLead preparation and execution of major design and readiness reviews
nWork with team members to produce Systems Engineering products with specific technical reporting
nResponsible for the planning, development, review, and maintaining program requirements including Project Technical Requirements Specification (PTRS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Verification and Validation Document (V&VD), and Verification Success Criteria (VSC)
nUtilize requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or MagicDraw
nPrepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
nWork with team members to identify risks, to develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responses
nPerform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performance
nWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support. - Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors
nPerform other duties as required
nHere’s what you’ll need :
nRequisition Qualifications:
nTypically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15 years of related experience.
nMinimum of 15 years of systems engineering experience working on NASA projects
nIn-depth knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection
nExpert knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation
nAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
nMust be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
nExperience working in a team environment
nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products
