Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building effective teams and fostering strong interpersonal relationships while driving results. This role requires staying current on key leadership and operational areas, developing process improvements, and maintaining strong relationships with Construction Managers and Project Managers.

Role is onsite in Pasadena, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Demonstrate a track record of success in building effective teams and interpersonal relationships while steadfastly pushing self and others for results.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on Leadership & Communication, Dispute Resolution, Supply Chain Management, Redline Review, Pricing Agreements, Rebate Programs, Process Improvement, Productivity KPIs, and Department Compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Develop new process improvement concepts to increase efficiency and enhance team engagement.
  • Collaboration with Sales Managers: Work with Sales Managers to ensure a thorough understanding of Project Manager needs to improve Purchasing department processes and results.
  • Pre-Bid Buyouts: Collaborate with Project Managers as requested for pre-bid buyouts and suggest strategies on a job-by-job basis.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain a strong presence and relationship with Project Managers.
  • Review & Compliance: Review POs and subcontracts for typos, scope accuracy, contractual language, and ethical issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage the process of mitigating delays, notify suppliers of their responsibilities from a cost perspective, and resolve billing disputes between the company and suppliers.
  • Subcontract Review: Conduct subcontract reviews of non-union requests, bond reviews, and redline review/negotiation.
  • Reporting: Create monthly reports for review with the Director of Purchasing, including Cost Analysis of Commodities and Major Equipment, Line Card Changes, Vendor Representative Changes, Vendor Problems, Vendor Meetings, PM Concerns, and Back Charge Log.
  • Buyout Review: Review incoming buyouts.
  • Back Charge Management: Manage all back charges in the assigned area of operations, maintain back charge data, maintain folder structure, and review all pending back charges with the Purchasing Director.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a supervisory role with a focus on team building and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, dispute resolution, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in construction, engineering, or aerospace industries is required.

Compensation:

Salary and compensation is based off of years of experience, education, and qualifications.
