Job Description Fleet Maintenance Manager Location: Atlanta Metro Job Type: Full-time
About the Role: As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all maintenance and repair of the entire fleet. This includes the supervision of all Shop, Field Service, and Field Maintenance employees. You will manage the Service Facility and Service Vehicles, scheduling both planned and unplanned maintenance to ensure 100% fleet availability.
Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluate and verify employee performance through review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Identify staff development and training needs, ensuring that training is obtained.
- Manage the operation, coordination, and quality control of the repair facility.
- Maintain inventories of stocks, tools, workshop equipment, and other supplies.
- Oversee the overhauling and rebuilding of trucks, tractors, pumps, cranes, and other standard or specialized gasoline, diesel, and manually operated machinery and equipment.
- Oversee the receipt and checking of new vehicles and equipment for compliance with specifications.
- Ensure compliance with right-to-know and other OSHA regulations for the safety of all employees.
- Diagnose difficult problems and recommend repairs.
- Contact dealers regarding heavy equipment warranties.
- Prepare cost and material estimates.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Considerable knowledge of supervisory techniques.
- Ability to plan and direct the work of shop staff.
- Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of CAT equipment is required.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate problems and organizational performance to assess efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Experience: - Must have 5 years of experience repairing the following:
- Dump Trucks
- Excavators
- Wheel Loaders
- Backhoes
- Compactors
- Skid Steer Loaders
