We are seeking a qualified Electrical Power & Design Engineer to support our growing electrical power services.

Key Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing electrical construction and specification packages, including:
  • Load studies
  • Single-line diagrams
  • Plot plan & area/building detail diagrams
  • Lighting, grounding, conduit, and cable schedules
  • Construction specifications
  • Equipment and installation details
  • Preferred experience with:
  • Area classification drawings
  • Motor/breaker schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Lightning protection
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series, and API 500 standards (preferred)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with power system modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) and electrical relay settings (e.g., GE Multilin, SEL) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of electrical power construction packages suitable for PE stamping and plan submission
  • Create detailed electrical power specifications and bills of materials
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment pricing
  • Participate in load studies, field verification walkdowns, and as-building of existing infrastructure
  • Perform factory acceptance testing and support start-up/commissioning efforts, including troubleshooting
  • Provide after-hours technical support for clients
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on quality assurance, budget management, and project updates
  • Assist in estimating costs and preparing proposals for new projects
  • Travel required (approximately 25%), with willingness to travel by air
