Position Summary...
What you'll do...

As a Senior Data Analyst for Data Ventures at Walmart, you will help pioneer ad hoc analytics, exploratory data analysis for omni sales, inventory, etc., to make Walmart's Luminate platform one of the fastest and most reliable data services for our merchants and suppliers. You will have access to our limitless global data and all the new data to be harvested from our stores and e-commerce. You will be able to influence decisions that not only influence how we make decisions but also create an impact at an unprecedented scale.
About Team: Walmart Data Ventures
At Data Ventures, we support to build foundational data assets for “Walmart Luminate”, a new suite of data products that gives U.S.-based merchants and suppliers unprecedented access to rich, aggregated, customer insights that enable smarter, faster decision-making. The three modules that make up Walmart Luminate (Shopper Behavior, Customer Perception, and Channel Performance) help make merchant and supplier jobs easier with a single version of the truth (data is the same view for both merchants and suppliers) that represents the customer’s needs and wants. These tools offer an omni-view (complete view of online and in-store customers) that is dynamic (interactive tooling and reporting).
What you'll do:

  • Exploratory Data Analysis of upstream sources to build single source od truth foundation.

  • Apply SQL and visualization skills to show analysis and build design of the proposed foundation tables.

  • Root Cause Analysis to support business and product initiatives. 

  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Product, Data Stewards, Data Modelers, upstream data partners & Data Scientists.


What you'll bring:

  • You have exceptional hands-on SQL with storytelling experience with data visualizations in Tableau, Looker, etc.

  • Basic Python or any scripting language.

  • Strong data exploration.

  • You're an inquisitive and out-of-the-box thinker who is continually on the lookout for opportunities to improve and innovate analytic solutions.

  • You have a spirit of entrepreneurship and can connect what with the why.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
