Responsibilities of the Power Platform Developer II

  • Design/develop/deploy business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)

  • Possess good UI design skills and create visually appealing interfaces that are easy to use and navigate

  • Configure and customize data models, forms, workflows, and reports to meet business needs

  • Create/maintain dashboards, including designing visuals and metrics, data visualization, and analytics to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement

  • Develop/maintain SQL Server databases and T-SQL queries for data storage, retrieval, and manipulation

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Power Platform applications and SQL Server

  • Identify/develop, and deploy reports in Power BI & integrate Power BI Reports and dashboards into PowerApps

  • Gather and document user requirements and identify new features; translate business/user requirements into application design. Documentation will require a great level of detail so that other staff members may follow along, even with little technical background

  • Serve as a liaison to other agency departments and outside entities in a positive manner; able to effectively communicate and work with a large cross-section of stakeholders

  • Participate in database design to support application development projects

  • Analyze and troubleshoot query performance and take corrective actions to solve issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end

  • Create, test, and debug complex T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development

  • Participate in code reviews and tech design review

Preferred Qualifications of the Platform Developer

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field
  • Several years of experience in developing business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Transact-SQL, and database design

  • Strong UI design skills and the ability to create visually appealing interfaces that are easy to use and navigate

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills

  • Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript or PowerShell

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web services

  • Experience with Azure DevOps

  • Microsoft Power Platform certification a plus!!
