Cambridge Health Alliance is expanding services to address substance use disorders for its patients and communities. We are opening a low barrier and harm reduction Bridge Clinic at CHA Cambridge Hospital to provide treatment for patients who need immediate attention and who could benefit from additional clinical services. This program will be multidisciplinary and interdepartmental, and will collaborate with other departments throughout Cambridge Health Alliance and with our community partners in order to meet the needs of our patients with substance use disorders. This is a grant funded position.

The Recovery Coach provides clinically-based peer recovery support services to support patient engagement into recovery support and addiction treatment. They will collaborate with other members of the care team to identify needs and resources with the patient, family and health care team, create a treatment plan appropriate to the patient's needs and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' sobriety and 5-10 years' experience in peer recovery support work
  • Experience working with relevant community groups preferred. Demonstrated experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings required.
  • Experience working as a Recovery Coach
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree desirable
  • Certification:Current Addiction Recovery Coach certification in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts preferred; certification required within one year of employment
  • Bicultural and/or bilingual in the specific cultural/language group of the population/community served in a particular job.
