What will the Staff Accountant do?

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll records.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports for management, highlighting variances and trends.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze expense and revenue trends and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing financial information and documentation.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Stay up to date with accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise ethical behavior in all financial activities.

What the company needs in the Staff Accountant:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the medical industry is a plus.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • QuickBooks experience is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, detail oriented, and a good communicator.
